RM7.2bil helicopter service deals signed

PETALING JAYA: Contracts worth a total of RM7.2bil were signed between two helicopter service providers and five oil and gas companies yesterday.

MHS Aviation Bhd (MHS), a subsidiary of Boustead Holdings Bhd, sealed a RM3bil contract to provide helicopter services for 10 years to Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc andNewfield Peninsular Malaysia Inc.

The deal also provides for an option to extend the contract for an extra five years.

MHS will provide its services to about 100 offshore oil rigs and installations via Kerteh Airport, Terengganu.

MHS chief executive officer Ma’som Mahadi said: “We look forward to this long-term partnership. Our five new Eurocopter EC225 helicopters will be the main carriers during the tenure of this contract.”

Meanwhile, Westar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd signed a RM4.2bil deal with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc, Newfield, Petrofac Malaysia and Talisman Malaysia.
