Economies Must Help Each Other, S. African Minister Says

South African cabinet minister Trevor Manuel said during an April 11 lecture at Georgetown that nations and market economies must complement each other to encourage economic growth and help citizens of all socioeconomic levels.

"We must try to find ways to grow the economy to benefit all of its citizens," he said.

Manuel was on campus to deliver the Oliver Tambo lecture sponsored by the African Studies Program in the School of Foreign Service.
